PURE Salon At Old Town

PURE Salon is the first new business to launch at Old Town. PURE opened in June 2016 and is a full-service Aveda hair salon located centrally in Old Town’s boutique retail and office spaces on Main Street, which is convenient to North Columbus.

PURE was the brainchild of Skylar McBride, the owner, who started as a salon apprentice in 2009, working her way to becoming a stylist in 2011. Skylar always knew her long-term goal was to open her own salon. She first heard about the design and concept of Old Town through a client who happened to be a real estate agent. Old Town had yet to be developed, but Skylar was drawn to its idea of a comfortable, Southern feel in a beautiful location.

Skylar’s goal was to offer clients more than just a haircut, but also an experience in a clean and relaxing environment. The salon is crisp and elegant; modern, but comfortable, with a chic minimalistic style, warmed up with plants and woodwork. Skylar wants clients to be wowed when they walk in the door, but also to feel welcomed and relaxed.

PURE salon has eight stylists, including Skylar, plus three apprentices. All of whom stay on trend by following the latest styles and techniques and attending regular workshops and education classes. When asked how they keep up to date on new styles, Skylar laughs and admits that Pinterest keeps them all on their toes, because clients will bring in pictures of new things that they want to try; and she and her staff are always excited to do something different.

As an Aveda hair salon, PURE uses great quality, all natural and organic style products. That’s something that’s always been important to Skylar, who is committed to using the best possible products without harsh chemicals. In addition to Aveda, PURE salon carries Moroccan Oil products as well.

PURE salon offers a variety of services, from haircuts and coloring, to conditioning and keratin treatments, hair extensions, facial waxing, signature hand massages, blue oil treatments and more.
